The challenge: to learn the Revit software and produce documentation for my cafe design.
Le Velo Cafe is located in Wentworth Point in NSW on the beautiful water front. This two storey cafe sits below residential apartments at The Bellagio.
My design is urban chic, incorporating pops of vibrant colour in the artwork and furniture pieces. The brick walls are a fresh white paint allowing the artwork to take full effect. The cafe includes a bike repair shop, internal and external bike racks as well as a take-away kiosk window for ease of access for cyclists. The outdoor area has ample benched seating with shade, the perfect spot to relax and enjoy a coffee.
The Revit documentation process was delivered in stages and it’s only after I have completed it all that I see the true capabilities of the software. I see great value in designing a space in 2D and then being able to transform the work in to 3D to get a better understanding of how everything will work together.
I designed the first level as a chill out zone displaying artwork by Reko Reno, a local Sydney artist. The take-away counter with accompanying bike racks offers ease to cyclists when ordering their food and beverage. The outdoor furniture is weather proof and easy to clean. There is ample space outdoors for families to enjoy.
“Learning Revit has taught me a whole set of new skills. I’m so excited to improve over time so that it becomes a natural and additional way of thinking when designing.”
